Summer in Camargue meaning long bicycle hikes; here is a view of a passage along the beach where you need to unmount to pass the dunes. The morning sun is just starting to warm me up.

An unusual view in Italy, an abandoned industry building just behind the beach. But, somehow, it does not surprise me down here. The need to use the opportunities is obvious.
Visiting beaches in August in Italy can be challenging. Everyone is on vacation, everyone is at the beach. Consequently each inch of sand is exploited and you will have to look for long to find a place for your towel. Gaeta, a medieval city just north of Naples is not any different. The beach establishments cover each piece of area and the public alternatives get just a few meters at the end. However, water is clean, people are nice and the food is good.
